We all need to stop underestimating our children. Children are the future and the future is now! There are kids out there who are fairly clever, and then there are some of them who are way smarter than us, even if we don't want to admit it.
Kids are out here building fans out of lego, creating swimming pools on apartment balconies, and using leaf blowers to power skateboards. What have adults done? Nothing of value. Nothing.
A+ For Effort And Execution
This right here is a whole new level of creativity. Teachers know that students are going to text in class even when they're not supposed to, but we're pretty sure no teacher is ever going to think a student would use a fake arm.
The funny part is it's probably not even an important text conversation. Is it even worth all the trouble it took to stuff your coat to look like an arm and then wiggle your real arm out of the coat?
We're not sure how safe this one is. It's definitely a "don't try this at home" invention because we don't want the responsibility, but it's pretty handy.
Imagine you get on the bus, all the seats are taken, but you're exhausted and don't feel like standing. This is your solution. Just hook up the scooter, hop up and you'll be good to go. You might need a little help getting on and off but that's a problem to deal with at a later time...
Why waste time holding a Kleenex if you don't have to? This kid was suffering through allergy season but rather than wasting precious valuable time he finessed a hands-free solution.
Sure, it's maybe a little gross, and we're not entirely convinced you'd be able to breathe if you did it, but A for effort for sure. Does anyone else wonder how frequently you'd have to swap out the Kleenex? It would hurt to rip the tape off your face over and over again...
We're A Fan Of This One
Once we explain what is actually happening in this picture, you won't be able to convince us you're not impressed.
One sibling walked into his brother's room to find this Lego contraption. What is it? This kid's box fan broke so he engineered a stand out of legos, and it even includes an on-off switch comprised of Legos. Nothing will make sense in this world ever again unless this kid becomes an engineer. Someone hire him right now.
This kid had to take matters into his own hands. He wanted to go swimming, so he had to use what he had on hand and it turned out better than anyone probably expected.
Imagine his parents wondering what he's doing out on the balcony. They go to check on him and realize their son has created a literal swimming pool out of their porch. The only question is how did he get rid of the water?
Take All My Money
"The Grab it all" tool is exactly what it sounds like. This kid saw a hole in the market and decided he could make just what everyone needs. You can use the grab it all however you want. The world is your oyster.
It has the claw side to pick up objects with, but it also has velcro on the back which Ryan — the inventor — suggests you could use to pick up clothing. Perfect for anyone who is vertically challenged, or just doesn't want to get off the couch!
Home Theater Hack
Never drop your phone on your face while trying to watch a YouTube video again with this handy dandy make-shift home theater. All it takes is a cardboard box, your phone, and a big desire to lie around with a box over top of your head.
One Reddit user seemed to think this could also be a solution if you like to sleep in complete darkness, but we're not going to recommend that you sleep with a box over your head. In fact, please don't do that.
Why would you use your feet and tire yourself out when you could steal your dad's leaf blower from the garage and use that to propel yourself down the street? Regular skateboarding is out, leaf blower-boarding is all the rage now.
Hopefully whoever took this picture gave the kid a shoutout because he deserves to be protected and cheered on at all costs. He's really going places! Like down the street, around the corner, and back home.
A Walking Foot Massager
"When the house goes quiet for too long we get worried. This time Amelia wanted to be able to skate around the house. Let's see if she can get the patent" Amelia just wanted to go rollerskating, but what do you do if you don't have any skates? Well, you make some out of Hotwheels cars. Duh.
This seems like it might be a more painful alternative to regular ol' fashioned rollerskates but a girl's gotta make do with what she's got, right?
To be a successful entrepreneur you need to be able to anticipate the public's needs and design a product that meets those needs, which is exactly what this kid did. He's corned the market (literally and figuratively.)
Athen lives in Papillion, Nebraska, and originally made these buttons so all Pokémon Go players could feel safe at night. Since starting his business he has started a Go Fund Me page so that he can provide buttons to the homeless population in his city for free. Smart and caring, Athen is the businessman we need in this world!
You Done Good, Kid
"My 9-year-old cousin's invention. I think he did good."
It's summertime! You want to ride bikes with your friends not mow the lawn right? Well, this clever kid decided he could do both at once. All it took was a few tools and a lot of willpower. We're not entirely confident he'll be able to get that front wheel back on by himself later, but that's a problem for a later time!
Schooling Us All
Never again worry about dropping your book into the bathtub. As one Reddit user aptly pointed out, this book looks like it's definitely been dropped in the water once or twice, which is probably where the inspiration for this little passion project came from. Necessity is the mother of all invention right?
The logistics of how to attach a book to a dog leash are still a bit of a mystery, but for a first-try prototype it's pretty good!
Eye See You
Have you ever been in a situation where you really want to take a nap but you didn't want people to know you were asleep? We haven't either, but if we were, this would be our solution.
Print out some eyes, tape them to your face and you're all set! We're not sure if this would work if you don't wear glasses though. People might wonder why you have tape on your face, or why it looks like you have paper stuck over your eyes... If anyone is brave enough to try this, let us know how it goes.
Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
This is one resourceful kid. Sometimes you don't have a stapler, or maybe you ran out of staples and you can't find any paperclips in that drawer everyone has in the kitchen filled with random things, but you have to turn this paper in.
So what do you do? You can just loop the pages together with rope. That's a completely viable option and definitely not weird at all right? Totally normal solution.
Don't Forget To Hydrate
This little girl at the ripe old age of 9 has so much to teach the world. She told her mom's boyfriend that "I invented this so i don't have to stop playing video games to drink my water." The contraption is rightfully nicknamed the "Pwning Pouch."
Hydration is the key to success, but so is concentration. You can't be expected to be able to beat anyone at Mario Kart if you have to stop for a drink every time you're thirsty.
Listen To This
Natalie was sick of listening to music at a regular volume (aren't we all?) and decided to amp up her dance party by whipping up some homemade speakers. All it took were a few solo cups, some scissors, and a toilet paper tube and you'll have a brand new sound system!
One woman commented on the Instagram post saying her son recently tried out this hack and she was "SHOCKED" that it actually worked. There's your verified review in case you're a doubter.
No one wants to touch poles or seats or really any part of public transportation unless they absolutely have to. Do you know how many people rode that city bus before you hopped on?
This little boy relates to that and found a clever way around this. Now he can ride the train without having to sit down or worry about falling over but he also gets to be handsfree. It's an all-around solid solution.
Smell Ya Later
One creative kid decided she didn't like the smell of her house after mom had made a dinner she didn't like, so she had to improvise.
Rather than wasting a can of Febreze trying to mask the smell, Beck stuck scented markers into her fan. It might completely dry the markers out and mom wasn't convinced that it actually did anything about the smell, but you can't get mad at the girl for trying!
Let's Go Fly A Kite
You're probably wondering what exactly it is you're looking at. This little guy's mom said "we watched Mary Poppins and Cam decided he wanted to fly a kite" so he rigged up a balloon and a fishing pole. It's a perfect little makeshift kite. Kudos to Cam for his ingenuity.
We're always down to appreciate creativity but maybe playing with a fishing pole outside during a rainstorm isn't the wisest idea?
This Will Definitely Work
One particularly devious child decided she needed to shoot her shot and see if she could pull this trick over on her mom.
To sum it up the note says that she's been accepted into a program for children who need more sleep and "they are aloud to stay home twice a week." The program also encourages her mom to let the daughter play outside until 7:30 every day and stay up until 9:30. Seems legitimate right?
