These Teachers Are Sharing Their Biggest Fails With The Internet
It's not easy being a teacher. If you ask us, teachers aren't paid nearly enough to handle a room full of rowdy kids for seven hours a day. They don't just have to keep them quiet and well-behaved, they also have to get some knowledge into their brains. That's a tough job.
Sometimes, their hectic schedules and frazzled minds get the better of them and teachers end up failing royally. Luckily, they have a sense of humor about it all. These teachers all shared their biggest fails online so that we could laugh right along with them.
Locked Out
This teacher accidentally locked himself out of his classroom. Luckily, he always keeps a toolkit in his car. He got to work taking out the grate in his door so that he could crawl through and open the door from the inside.
Right Before Class
This teacher is about to start his first-ever day of work. He has all of his lesson plans on his computer. His computer just decided that it's time to update. It's going to be a long day.
A Beanbag Disaster
This teacher ordered some beans to refill her bean bag. The beans were back-ordered for months, so when they finally arrived, she was so excited to fill up her old chair. Then this happened.
Blood Everywhere
This science teacher took some organs out of her freezer so her students could dissect them later (animal organs, of course). Then she forgot about them, and they thawed and leaked all over her classroom floor.
That's Not A Whiteboard
This substitute teacher thought it would be a good idea to use a dry erase marker to write all over this SmartBoard. That is not a whiteboard. That is a highly sophisticated piece of technology.
Fake Snow
This teacher made some fake snow for her students to teach them all about the weather and precipitation cycles. Unfortunately, this snow looks a lot like something you might see on a crime show.
Online Classes
This teacher left his class a rather scathing email about how he showed up to his lecture and the room was completely empty. He thought everyone had ditched his class before he realized that he was teaching an online course.
A Photocopying Mistake
When you're photocopying something, always make sure that the entire document is within the copier's range. Otherwise, stuff like this can happen. The young students in this music class found this fail hilarious.
Not The Right Photo
This teacher accidentally posted the wrong photo into a Google Slide presentation for her class. At least it was something innocent like a flower pot. This could have been a lot worse.
The Dog Ate Their Homework
This teacher left the homework she was grading out in her kitchen, and her dog actually ate all of it. Well, this might be the most ironic thing we've seen all day.
A Chemical Spill
We're not sure what was going on in this chemistry classroom, but now there are bubbles all over the floor. It looks like it's going to take a while to clean all of that up.
Goodbye Fishy
This first-grade teacher accidentally killed the class goldfish. She left a sign on the tank. She's still deciding if she wants to go out and get another goldfish and pass it off as the same one.
An Accidental Swear Word
This teacher made a totally normal and totally innocent word search for her students, but when the filler letters auto-populated, they decided to sneak in a rude word. That wasn't very nice of them.
Not Your Donut
This teacher's student asked her to hold onto her donut for her. Unfortunately, the teacher misunderstood and thought that her student was giving her a delicious donut to eat. Oops.
The Worst Freudian Slip
This teacher made the worst mistake that a science teacher could make in front of a bunch of 13-year-olds. How will she ever recover from this disaster? These kids will never forget.
A Very Honest Student
This student could have just kept this information to himself and gotten perfect on the math homework, but he decided to be honest and point out this teacher's big mistake.
An Accidental Book Burning
Teachers are supposed to be encouraging kids to read, not burning books in front of classrooms full of kids. This was a huge fail. Why was there fire present at an assembly?
She Misspoke
Well, we thought that science teacher earlier was getting the award for cringiest Freudian slip of all time, but this unfortunate "disc" scenario might just steal the top prize. This poor teacher.
Hitting The Floor
If you're going to lecture your students about not rocking on their chairs, you better be the most excellent chair-sitter in the whole world. This teacher is clearly not that.
A Dangerous Mistake
This teacher probably tells her kids to shut their mouths all the time (in more polite words). She never expected to be the one to actually attempt to glue her mouth shut.
The Wrong Answer
Just in case you weren't aware, teachers are humans too, and they make mistakes from time to time. The important thing is that they can admit when they get something wrong.
The Worst April Fools' Joke
This teacher obviously didn't mean to order dangerous fire ants to her classroom, but that's definitely what happened. Now it looks like she's trying to pull the meanest April Fools' joke.
These two students convinced their teacher to let them skip out on a final project if they could get 100 retweets. Their teacher thought 100 retweets was an impossible number, so she agreed.
Rushing To A Meeting
A teacher's work never ends. When they think they have a moment to themselves to get some marking done, they get called into yet another meeting (usually about stuff that doesn't matter at all).
A Big Smash
This art teacher accidentally smashed her students' pottery on the ground. She's probably going to have to give them all extra credit now to make up for this major fail on her part.
Don't Cry Over Spilled Coffee
This teacher walked into her office and spilled her very large Starbucks coffee on the floor as soon as she walked in. Today is just not her day. Maybe she'll have better luck tomorrow.
A Square Pie
When considering pie shapes, this teacher didn't take into account that most of her students only ever eat pie from McDonald's. In this case, the students were technically right. Pies come in all shapes and sizes.
The Tiniest Clothespins
This teacher ordered a bag of clothespins online because she wanted to write her students' names on them. They were going to be used to hold up artwork around her kindergarten classroom. These are way too small.
An Exploding Pen
This teacher posted this photo on Instagram along with the caption, "A funny thing happened today... My red pen exploded when my student answered with confidence that 12 divided by 2 equals 4."
The Worst Markers
This teacher went out to buy markers for her class out of the goodness of her heart, but she accidentally bought these stinky markers. Why do these even exist? Now her whole classroom smells like garbage.
Accidents Happen
We don't know what happened to these quizzes that ended in them being returned to students soaking wet, and we don't need to know. As long as the grade is still somewhat legible, that's good enough.
Maybe The Teacher Needs A Refresher
Just because they're expecting that their students are able to write a full sentence using 5 to 6 words does not mean that they require themselves to be able to meet that standard. Teachers get a free pass here.
Well That Backfired
It seemed harmless to play Hangman with your students when learning about different types of habitats, but the students still managed to turn it into something else. Let's hope the principal doesn't come in at that moment.
Brains Over Booty
This teacher taught an entire lesson based on this graph and couldn't quite figure out why her students found it so entertaining... Until she turned around and read the labels on the axis.
Always Check The Measurements
When ordering craft supplies for your classroom, you always want to doublecheck the sizing of what you're ordering so you don't end up with a dozen buckets that are too small to actually use.
Licensing Is Overrated
As far as he's concerned, Getty doesn't need his money. All he wanted was to spice up his Zoom background so his students could have something nice to look at, and he succeeded.
Inspiration Through Tough Love
Writing inspirational quotes in the yearbooks of students that are leaving is clearly something that needs your complete focus, or you end up with something a little less than inspirational.
Tell Us How You Really Feel About Your Students
Their heart was in the right place, but one little drawing took this from an informative poster about how to following along with your finger as you read to a lesson about birds.
Rising To The Occasion
What kind of school even has access to a fog machine in the first place? Maybe you can somehow turn this into a science lesson on identifying different types of clouds.
Scrambling For A Solution
When a student asks for a teacher's help, it's because they can't solve the problem themselves. This student wanted their teacher to help them with their nest, not break the egg they were trying so hard to protect.
