Boozy Brunch Ends In Chaos When Woman Falls Behind Restaurant Sofa
Bottomless mimosas always sounds like a great idea right up until you realize that during the search for the elusive "bottom," you often lose yourself.
One woman learned the boozy brunch lesson the hard way, at 40 years old, no less.
You Never Really Know Where Brunch Plans Will Take You
Some people might think that a boozy brunch is a 20-somethings game, but one awesome woman is proving that there's no age requirement for having fun in public.
And also that boozy brunch can knock anyone down, quite literally.
A Group Of Women Were Celebrating A Friend's Birthday
Lindsay Clark, 40, is from North Shields, England.
She was enjoying lunch with a group of women who had been celebrating a friend's 47th birthday at the Twelve25 restaurant in North Tyneside, England.
Julie Jackson Captured The Chaos In A Video
Lindsay's friend, Julie Jackson, captured the aftermath of a mimosa-fuelled brunch date that resulted in a near emergency situation.
Thankfully, the restaurant staff was there to spring into action when they realized what was happening.
A Now-Viral Video Captured Lindsay's Escapade
The video was first shared on Facebook and quickly racked up over 2.3 million views on the original post before it was shared on Twitter, Reddit, and Instagram.
Lindsay took "bottoms up" to heart when she reached for a friend's jacket while getting ready to leave the restaurant.
Bottoms Up
The prosecco-filled party came crashing down when it was time to leave and Lindsay reached for a jacket that had fallen behind the sofa they had been sitting on.
She suddenly found herself flipping forward behind the sofa, unable to get her hands back up to pull herself free.
Restaurant Staff Had To Help Try To Get Her Free
Unable to get herself upright, Lindsay's friends jumped into action to try to pull her out, but after about five minutes of struggling and tugging on her legs, they were unable to get her free.
By this point, restaurant staff had taken notice of the chaotic scene and made their way over to help.
Lindsay Was Stuck For About 10 Minutes In Total
Lindsay's friend Julie, who shared the video, recalled some of the hilarity: "She was stuck for about 10 minutes in total."
The staff had rushed to Lindsay's rescue and Julie explained that they were all "lovely," adding that "they could have been funny about it but they were really nice. It's not a birthday I'll forget.”
"It's Just A Bit Of A Laugh"
After the video went viral on social media, Julie said, "I didn't expect to get that reaction. Lindsay finds it hilarious, it's just a bit of a laugh."
“She's always wanted to be famous, although I don't think this is how she expected it to happen."
Lindsay's Embracing Life Upside Down
Lindsay really does have a great sense of humor about the whole ordeal and recently updated her Facebook photo to feature herself photoshopped into an upside-down position.
Her friends and family have enjoyed quite the laugh at her expense, but it doesn't seem to faze her.
