A child should not be turned around in their car seat until at least 2 years old. This ensures that the most delicate parts of their spinal cord have fused. Many safety experts suggest keeping your child rear-facing until they have reached the maximum height and weight requirements allowed by the car seat’s manufacturer.
My daughter remained rear-facing until she was four-years-old because of her smaller size. Always err on the side of caution.
