This father came up with a way to make a safe DIY flamethrower at home, and his kids love it.

Flamethrower Is "The Best Toy Ever!"
Well, at least his kids because James and Sophia proclaim it's "the best toy ever!"
Of course, this isn't an actual flamethrower. It's a DIY project that anyone can do at home.
It's NOT A Deadly Weapon
Daniel said, "To the children, it was not a deadly weapon, but more a dynamic and giggle-inducing obstacle."
"They had a friend over to play on the patio, and we decided to let them have some supervised play with this electric leaf blower."
It's A Fun DIY Project
What do you need for this DIY toy flamethrower? A leaf blower, rubber bands, tape, and some red, yellow, and orange silk fabric.
And like the Hashimoto family, you, too, could inspire your kids' creativity.
Leaf Blower + Lightweight Fabric
"We decided to see how the lightweight fabric might play with the blower, so Sophia grabbed a large rubber band and some tape, and we affixed it to the nozzle."
Large Billowing Flames
"The result was even more spectacular than we imagined - large billowing waves looked remarkably like flames - and so the device immediately was dubbed "The flame thrower."
Fire Bending, Flame Tag And Jump Rope
James and Sophia enjoy using the flame thrower for games like "Flame Tag" or jump rope over the flames.
And they reenact fire-bending scenes from Avatar: The Last Airbender - Flameo Hotman!
Other Uses For The Leaf Blower
Daniel's leaf blower hasn't always been a flame thrower - it's also been used to hover ping-pong balls and do slow-motion videos of their hair blowing in the wind.
And they attempted to inflate a fitted sheet.
Daniel believes kids can turn their imagination into improvising and handling challenges.
